+ your year of birth. Mine Chicago, which was the first concert my parents took me to, and it always gives me a strange feeling of security (1968)

this used to be ELO, for me, until I grew up some more and realised that they actually are pretty awesome. (1969)

Theres quite a lot of "bad" stuff that I still like, but really only when hearing them through memory. Listening to The Wall for the first time in 10 years was a terribly dissapointing experience. Goodbye Blue Sky sounds great in my head, but I don't ever want to hear it again.

Toto's "Africa"! How embarassing! Also Thursday, if freshman year of high school counts as "childhood." My stock defense is: "But they have that one song about Ian Curtis!"

When flipping around the dial, I always listen to those horrible eighties you-can-do-it songs from like rocky 9 or son of karate kid when I come across them. Y'all know the songs I am talking about, the triumphant synth flourishes, the keening castrati vocals, the moronic lyrics, they're like a mini-session of cognitive therapy.

btw, does anyone else think kornrulez6969 is huffing bug spray?

I don't know, Kiss seems excusable, I'm talkin' about unredeemably bad, not even good bad (like Kiss)--like if I liked Toto, that would be what I meant, or Christopher Cross which I can't turn off when it's on....ouch that hurt!

Born 1970, and I sort of love most anything that was on the hitlists in the early 80s, for purely nostalgic reasons, I guess. Although this was my early youth rather than my childhood - my childhood was about music for children mainly (out of which I am still very fond of Knutsen & Ludvigsen, two crazy guys that have influenced several of the most famous Norwegian rock bands with their way of writing lyrics)
