Best version of Another Day?

I'm going to study the 3 versions (are there more?) more closely later, but in my book, This Mortal Coil's is number one, followed by the original, then the Peter Gabriel/Kate Bush collab.

I have to re-listen to the Kate Bush - Peter Gabriel song primarily for the fact thatI had no idea that it even exsisted. (I hope that you aren't referring to that popular duet they did together where theres a video ofor it and everything, because if that song they are doing is "another Day i will have to slap myself for not paying it any attention). But I Love the Mortal Coil version, but you really can't understand what the hell she is saying (is that Liz fraser, or some other chick?) and then the original sounds cool but it's sort of contry. I think that someone else should do it in Mortal coil STYLE, but where you can perfectly understand the words... Which are very very touching!

And here I was thinking this was going to be about the Cure song...

For me, that I can't understand Liz Fraser is part of her allure, which builds up her mystique and inscrutability that I think is part of the "Voice of God" aspect. But then again, you do know what she's singing, the official lyrics *are* out there since they're someone else's -- and still she manages to elevate the words to something that feels quite a bit more (and granted, the words are utterly fantastic in their own context). While Roy Harper's is perfectly melancholic and soft and fuzzy, Liz Fraser bumps up the drama of the song into something more epical even if the song is less than three minutes.

You mean you're not talking about the Paul McCartney song?

No, the Oingo Boingo song.
