Behead the Prophet, No Lord Shall Live

Anyone know of this group? Late 90s hardcore/spazzcore. Pretty good stuff in my opinion. Are there any other bands from the same era that have a similar sound?

drummer went on to be in ...trail of dead. not a huge jump from this to a lot of the mid 90s gravity stuff. antioch arrow, heroin, angel hair, young ginns etc... or universal order of armageddon. early black dice.

Sure. Gay HC screamo crustmetal thing out of Oly, right? Never a favorite band of mine, but I've got a split they did with the Thrones that I like a lot (B.O.C. covers, and I'm a sucker for that) and an EP that ain't half bad. Better than a hell of a lot of stuff that falls under the same umbrella, but it's still not really my cuppa tea. History will look on 'em fondly for having been at least somewhat gay.

The drummer played with Trail of Dead? I thought the drummer in Trail of Dead has always been that same guy... Anyway, B.T.P.N.L.S.L. had members of Mukilteo Fairies, and I think a few of them played in Tight Bros. from Way Back When.

Mukilteo Fairies are a good band to check out if you like Behead the Prophet.

And I'm an idiot, because Mukiteo Fairies were Jason Reece's band before Trail of Dead.

The guitarists from BtP, Quitty (who also played in Mukilteo Fairies) and Dave, went on to play in Tight Bros. Never dug the Fairies, but then I never noticed them until after they were gone...

yeah, I'm getting mixed up with the mukilteo fairies connection.

Not too bad, but better in concept than execution. You could never hear the violin player!

No familiar with the single; what B.O.C. cover did they do?

Thrones do Black Blade = FUCKING AWESOME.

BtP cover Hot Rails to Hell = should rule but kinda meh.

Couple non-B.O.C. BtP songs on there, too. Dunno the names. This is the first thing I ever heard by the band, and I liked their originals enough to track down other stuff by the band, and follow the progress to Lords of Lightspeed.

found this again on the internet after reading the recent Josh Ploeg interview in MRR. god, i still love this band as much as i did in 97.

the violinst died a while back... quite a mensch of the experimental music scene in WA, apparently.
