What about Patti Labelle?

I became a fan and I cant believe I just said that. I learned that she has a gospel album coming out soon ("The Gospel According to Patti") at my UMGD internship and I think its cool that she has artists like Kanye West, Wynonna Judd as well as CeCe Winans featured on it. I check her site continuously (www.pattilabellegospel.com) for more and I probably will until the album drops next week. It will definitely be a must have for me!

Chrysler Presents The Gospel According To Patti LaBelle!

(Click here to test drive the Chrysler Aspen!)

Will she be inserting the words Chrysler and Aspen in the Gospels too?

Sorry. I know most big tours are sponsored right now, but I still think that sucks.

"Like you there are two sides to every Aspen"..the pious humble gospel singer and the money grabbing uber diva.

gospel, eh?...well, she's come a long way from the days of "Lady Marmalade", when she claimed she would be so overtaken by her band's sexed-up grooves she would quite literally climax over and over in her space suit...

You'll actually be test driving the car on the parking lots of the churches she visits on her tour:

This just gave me a "Missy Elliott = Patti Labelle" epiphany, (I think it was the space suit that tipped me off) but than it occured to me that Missy can't really sing.

Several of us have weighed in on other threads (R&B 2008 I think, other places), and I raved about it a little bit on Cave 17 -- great comeback, comparable to what Chaka Khan and Eddie Floyd and other soul people have done lately.

There's self-confidence and then there's Patti LaBelle's twitter bio. pic.twitter.com/NdV59fprg0

Patti Labelle backed by a band with funky dc go-go musicians on Live at Noochie's Front Porch just across the DC border into Maryland. She sounds great and wait till she kicks off her shoes

Were you inspired to see her because of recent Vicki Wickham discussion?

Nicholas Raybeat (James Redd and the Blecchs), Tuesday, 25 November 2025 19:14 (two months ago)

Ha , no . I didn’t go to this Patti Labelle dc thing as it was invite only. But love the video above
