If you can find anything better than this I'm impressed:

Smooth Criminal - Michael Jackson

Let's fill up this tread with great videos with great dancing in them.

in before OK Go

I hope that's a joke. That video is so not even funny.

Lovelace (Lovelace), Tuesday, 14 November 2006 13:23 (nineteen years ago)

it doesn't have to be funny, just have great dance routine - which it does

wait, which one are we talking about? I thought the treadmills were kinda meh, but I actually really liked the one where they were just dancing in the backyard.

I know, but I took it for granted that most people didn't think it was a *great* dance routine but rather that the enjoyment was that it was funny, which I happen to think is also not the case.

xpost - I was under the impression we are talking about the treadmills video.

"my love" JT (of course, although I love it, it doesn't get close to MJ in his prime...).
I like that the dance routine seem random and loose (and cool) compared to all the dance routines a-la-MJ that have been made over the last years.

I haven't seen the video to that song. I'll look it up.

For future posters, please try and put a youtube link to your video(s) of choice. It's more fun that way, innit.

Around the World, though the costumes are a big factor in the greatness.

true that!

aaliyah - are you that somebody
janet jackson - rhythm nation, pleasure principle
usher - yeah, caught up

I saw that timberlake video & it made me think 1) the track is a less successful version of "are you that somebody" and 2) he isn't a great dancer

Thriller is always awesome every time I see it. Will check how Smooth Criminal compares when I get home...

Yeah the dance to My Love seems a bit ambulatory. I'm not a big fan of the giant clocks and violins flying at my damn face. Although I've always wanted JT's clock in my face. (sigh, thats all I got)

Sorry, can't link to Youtube due to work firewall restrictions, but anyway:

New Order- True Faith
Pulp- Disco 2000
Chemical Bros- Let Forever Be

And surely the daddy of them all:
Aphex Twin- Windowlicker

well, about the dance routine in "my love", a friend of mine told me it may seem a bit loose but it's actually very precise and elaborate. I have no dancing skills whatsoever so I believe her !
as for JT he's not a great dancer (not even on the same planet as MJ) but there's something cool about his moves.
I agree that you can't get tired of the dance in "thriller". it's strange that the dancing is pretty dull in "rock with you" and "don't stop", though.

Thrilling

Your friend is very OTM. Look how continous the motions are through the set changes. That's precision. Although the choreographer apparently ran out of ideas, cause it seems like JT just freestyles his solo part at the end.

Le Tigre - "Deceptacon" is the first one that came to mind.
