recommend me some drone music

though i'm more than willing to explore drone music of all types, i'm specifically looking for classically trained musicians who have learned the art and set it aside. i guess they don't need to be classically trained but the Oberlin College conservatory has an extensive library of cds so basically recommend me stuff that you think a college conservatory might have.

If you want to you can search for stuff at http://obis.oberlin.edu/ but obviously thats only if you want to--i'll appreciate very much the time you put in to simply naming a composer.

thanks a lot!

Looks like Oberlin has plenty of La Monte Young. I used to study to "The Well Tuned Piano" when I was in college but certainly not all of it. For the hard-core ethnodrone? Check out your library's copies of the Music in the World of Islam LPs, especially the "Reeds and Bagpipes" volume.

Oh, and if you're interested in "drone music of all types" you should stop by the 'sco and see Charalambides on 11/20. I mean, what else are you gonna do that night?

oh i'll be at the charlambides undoubtedly---i can't believe they're gonna be here.

thanks for all the suggestions everyone! i'll think of all of you this thursday :)
