This guys seems to fly below the radar here. His latest, Nuclear Daydream, came out in September and I think it is his best yet. Anyone else?

I think all of his albums have been pretty strong. Whenever I drop several tracks on my iPod, and one of them comes up, I'm always pleasantly surprised, though I can never recognize them as one of his. Well, could never recognize - now when I hear a good song but don't know the artist, I just assume it's him.

There's a vaguely Christian undercurrent, which kind of distracts me, but no more so than it does with U2.

three years pass...

this record is still really good, incidentally.

i think the christian undercurrent is a result of his being in recovery and not due to any overtly religious agenda.
