The catalog thus far is overproductive and spotty and contains some massive stinkuppery, but in the spots where they're really on and trying ("they" as in both J + Khaela), they've done some amazing things; in spots it really impresses me how much they can combine chart-r&b sounds with the K aesthetic and have it sound, somehow, not at all weird or self-conscious. "Hey Boy" is my favorite on that front; it's like a fairly natural combo of Mirah and snap music; it's terrific. "Parentheses" from the new record is good, and the new record as a whole is probably more consistent than any of the past LPs I've heard -- still wanders in spots, though.

I found them to be really off-putting live, despite liking some songs. Khaela kept berating the crowd to dance. If it's good enough, we'll dance, okay?

There's a hot-ass Strategy remix of one song, can't remember the name. v v electro and bossy, in the best of ways.

i really love "jet ski accidents" and a few traacks off the new album, but yeah, she can be pretty retarded.

I love the new album, but of the other 4 albums, I like maybe 5-7 tracks.

I'm more of a fan of them with beats than without, but some of the earlier stuff is solid too.

Off the new album, "Parentheses", "Pile of gold", "Long List of Girls", "Eat Your Heart Up", "Bonjour Jeune Fille", "Pardon Me", "Fists Up" and "True Affection" are all amazing.

So basically what I'm saying is, it's easily their most consistant, and I'd say best, album.
