Wasn't expecting Celtic Frost to be no1.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy (Kerr), Friday, 5 January 2007 12:13 (nineteen years ago)

No Agalloch - British mags don't give them enough kudos

DJ Martian (djmartian), Friday, 5 January 2007 12:28 (nineteen years ago)

Wasn't expecting Celtic Frost to be no1.

celtic frost is the best album out of that list. though i've probably only heard half of it.

GOD PUNCH TO HAWKWIND (yournullfame), Friday, 5 January 2007 13:10 (nineteen years ago)

"23- Indesinence Noctambulism"

this is great and i don't remember seeing it on other such lists.

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 5 January 2007 13:34 (nineteen years ago)

i do love that melechesh album. el sabor, you like absu, have you heard the melechesh?

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 5 January 2007 13:36 (nineteen years ago)

i admire the blut aus nord as a what-the-fuck artifact, but i can't imagine anyone listening to it very often.

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 5 January 2007 13:37 (nineteen years ago)

haven't heard the latest melechesh, heard some of their earlier stuff and wasn't whelmed overly. but i'll probably check out the new one.

GOD PUNCH TO HAWKWIND (yournullfame), Friday, 5 January 2007 13:45 (nineteen years ago)

I wonder why Agalloch didn't get in it.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy (Kerr), Friday, 5 January 2007 20:11 (nineteen years ago)

because in britain they are still too obscure?, their profile elsewhere is a lot higher look at rateyourmusic for proof

Lamb of God = Lamb of Pantera

The main reason I hated it.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy (Kerr), Friday, 5 January 2007 23:37 (nineteen years ago)

i'll post my list again for the hell of it. i had to send mine to decibel in SEPTEMBER so it would be completely different now. hadn't heard converge and lots of other stuff. i don't know what i was thinking put to-mera on my list. i was just trying to make it to 20. would have been a lot easier if i had had two more months to think about it. and i totally forgot about kayo dot!!! an album i LOVED. oh well. whatever.

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 5 January 2007 23:38 (nineteen years ago)

all right, it wouldn't be completely different. mostly just take to-mera and one other thing off and put converge and kayo dot on instead. and i did like mastodon's album...

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 5 January 2007 23:39 (nineteen years ago)

they are all good albums. even the to-mera album is good. just not great or anything. there are only about 8 GREAT albums on my list.

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 5 January 2007 23:40 (nineteen years ago)

put that negative reaction album on that thread about great unheard 2006 albums. and infernum. and jotunspor.

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 5 January 2007 23:43 (nineteen years ago)

I want to hear that Negura Bunget now.

a. begrand (a begrand), Friday, 5 January 2007 23:46 (nineteen years ago)

it's nice to see some people on metal review put that burning saviours album on their lists. that's a great album for witchcraft fans.

Fall Of The Idols! That's another album that fell thru the cracks. sooooooooo awesome.

So is it only us sentimental Canadians who appreciate the Voivod album? It topped the BW&BK list, but was nowhere to be seen on either Decibel's (despite my own efforts) or Terrorizer's.

a. begrand (a begrand), Saturday, 6 January 2007 00:59 (nineteen years ago)

i liked the voivod album. i didn't listen to it a ton though. it made a bunch of lists, didn't it. maybe more individual lists.

scott seward (scott seward), Saturday, 6 January 2007 01:04 (nineteen years ago)

maria bought me the last issue of terrorizer when she was off-island and it was Gojira-mania. they are hyping the shit out of them.

scott seward (scott seward), Saturday, 6 January 2007 01:07 (nineteen years ago)

they are pretty good though. i don't know if they are the future of heavy good, but good all the same.

scott seward (scott seward), Saturday, 6 January 2007 01:27 (nineteen years ago)

You gotta see 'em live. Live, they're crushing.

pdf (Phil Freeman), Saturday, 6 January 2007 02:23 (nineteen years ago)

i like the preciseness of their sound. it's kinda hypnotic. it's like if (good) sepultura and meshuggah had a baby. a french baby. a french baby who was a sick drummer.

scott seward (scott seward), Saturday, 6 January 2007 02:44 (nineteen years ago)

That's not a bad list. I was pretty surprised at the quality returns of old bands like Deicide and Napalm Death. Smear Campaign was a fucking joy to listen to.
