Britney's comeback.

That new Girls Aloud vs. Sugababes charity single, "Walk This Way". They'll both be releasing new albums this year too.

A band called "Radiohead" has plans for a new album.

So do Kelly Clarkson, Goldfrapp, Timbaland, Kanye West, some guy named Lawrence Hill, The Shins, !!!, both ex-Sugababes, Ne-Yo, Kaiser Chiefs, and a bunch of other bands/artists who are so cool I have never even heard of them and probably never will.

Dr. Dre, Annie and Michael Jackson are maybes.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor's new album! The single that leaked, "Catch You," is brilliant.

New chart rules mean that whenever the Beatles' catalog is finally released for (legal) download, the question will not be if but how many of their songs and albums will be in the top 5, 10, and 40.

CHINESE DEMOCRACY: March 6, 2007.

What else?

You've Got Scourage On Your Breath (Haberdager), Sunday, 7 January 2007 21:53 (nineteen years ago)

DJ Martian, are you going to add the new Shiina Ringo album, Heisei Fuzoku, coming out in February? (Is there like a form people can fill out to request that you add titles to your list of forthcoming albums?)

R_S (RSLaRue), Sunday, 7 January 2007 21:55 (nineteen years ago)

I believe Efterklang have recorded their new album and will be out sometime this year.

medicine smack (van smack), Sunday, 7 January 2007 22:00 (nineteen years ago)

Also, DJ Martian, what's the deal? Do you only list things that are sufficiently non-commercial, and how do you determine that?

Don't pretend you're not totally fucking jazzed for it! I heard in the video they're all on catwalks and Cheryl punches through the wall and Nicola raps!!!

Oh right, another one of those things I'm supposed to "drop my pretenses" about and "admit I love it."

A-ron Hubbard (Hurting), Sunday, 7 January 2007 22:18 (nineteen years ago)

Elbow: Elbow discussed their latest album, as yet untitled, in the NME 06.01.07 edition. Its release date is Spring 2007, and is produced by guitarist Mark Potter. This, their 4th studio album, will contain "heavier", "darker" material with less input from producers and others not in the band. (wikipedia)

StanM (StanM), Sunday, 7 January 2007 22:18 (nineteen years ago)

(Sorry Martian just reminded myself at your site what your criteria are, even though it can sometimes be vague as to what counts and what doesn't.)

R_S (RSLaRue), Sunday, 7 January 2007 22:19 (nineteen years ago)

i only add artists and albums that interest or may interest me.

therefore things that don't interest me are not included: e.g most alt.country, singer-songwriters, emo, mallcore metal, mainstream hip hop, nme guitar tripe, twee, r'n'b, country, trad mainstream jazz etc

DJ Martian (djmartian), Sunday, 7 January 2007 22:21 (nineteen years ago)

bjork and timbaland!

trina has a new album out too i think.

amerie's next album will be awesome on the basis of the single.

lex pretend (lex pretend), Sunday, 7 January 2007 22:23 (nineteen years ago)

albums from rex the dog and gui boratto = woooo

lex pretend (lex pretend), Sunday, 7 January 2007 22:24 (nineteen years ago)

i wonder if the mum record will have singers? or back to the old sound since the singer left.
also pas/cal, brunettes, pearlfishers, another bmx bandits record, secret shine, orchids, greg davis, cats on fire, panda bear, maybe the murcof record that was supposed to come out at the end of last year?

keyth (keyth), Sunday, 7 January 2007 22:28 (nineteen years ago)

I'm not holding by breath for that Meat Puppets album to come out this year, but if it's anywhere near as good as what I've heard from Curt Kirkwood's Snow, I'll buy it.

MacDara Conroy (MacDara), Sunday, 7 January 2007 22:31 (nineteen years ago)

I'm looking forward to new: Daddy Yankee, Ivy Queen, Calle 13.

R_S (RSLaRue), Sunday, 7 January 2007 22:33 (nineteen years ago)

DJ Martian's one glaring omission is The Electric Soft Parade. But this is how the trouble started, so I shall schtum.

You've Got Scourage On Your Breath (Haberdager), Sunday, 7 January 2007 22:36 (nineteen years ago)

new for against album oh yeah

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Sunday, 7 January 2007 22:41 (nineteen years ago)

Look, Louis. Compare:

DJ Martian's one glaring omission is The Electric Soft Parade.

vs.

The Electric Soft Parade - "No Need To Be Downhearted" LP April 2007

(If you'd only posted this instead of what you did post, everyone would still know that album was coming out and you wouldn't have needed that terrible "DJ Martian's glaring omission/I'm always looking for a fight/oh no now I'm going to be banned again/boohoo" crap.)

StanM (StanM), Sunday, 7 January 2007 22:44 (nineteen years ago)

(not that being diplomatic like that will get you laid :-( but it won't start a fight, at least that's something)

StanM (StanM), Sunday, 7 January 2007 22:46 (nineteen years ago)

FYI: Electric Soft Parade will NOT be going on my tracking list

DJ Martian (djmartian), Sunday, 7 January 2007 22:47 (nineteen years ago)

(see? just because you told him it was a glaring omission!)

StanM (StanM), Sunday, 7 January 2007 22:48 (nineteen years ago)

Port-Royal - new album due in the Summer from these italian post-rockers

DJ Martian (djmartian), Sunday, 7 January 2007 23:08 (nineteen years ago)

There was no fight! There was no struggle! I accept DJ's word! There's enough awesome brilliance on his list to excuse the odd slip-up... ;-)

You've Got Scourage On Your Breath (Haberdager), Sunday, 7 January 2007 23:14 (nineteen years ago)

Much better. :-)

StanM (StanM), Sunday, 7 January 2007 23:24 (nineteen years ago)

Will that Roxy Music album come out this year? Or the one from the Pixies?

zeus (zeus), Sunday, 7 January 2007 23:42 (nineteen years ago)

the bracken album comes out soon doesn't it? how much like hood is it?

keyth (keyth), Sunday, 7 January 2007 23:48 (nineteen years ago)

Re: DJ Martian's list upthread: I seem to remember reading a lot of info about the new one from The Mission very recently, days ago even. (e.g. that two people from All About Eve are on it), I think there's a release date and a title as well.

just checked:

The Mission - God Is A Bullet

http://themissionuk.com/news.asp#258

It’s entitled ‘God Is A Bullet’ and will feature 15 new songs. The scheduled release is early April (exact date tbc) with a new single ‘Keep It In The Family’ scheduled for release in March (again, exact date tbc).
As I’ve mentioned before, we have enjoyed the contributions of some very special guests........I’ve already told you about The Mission’s original guitarist, Simon Hinkler, playing some fantastic guitar but besides Simon we also have the spine tingling voice of Julianne Regan (All About Eve) alongside my voice again on a couple of tracks for the first time since the ‘Children’ album in 1988......It’s amazing how well our two voices still sound together.......
We also enjoyed some mighty fine guitar playing on 3 tracks from original All About Eve guitarist, Tim Bricheno, who also once played with the Mission on a series of European festivals back in 1990 after Simon had left the band. ......

Bodyrox feat. Luciano Pavarotti (fandango), Monday, 8 January 2007 00:03 (nineteen years ago)

is chris adams ex-hood? i thought they were just taking this time to try other projects. from reading that though it seems like it's gonna be a hood record under a different name.

keyth (keyth), Monday, 8 January 2007 00:22 (nineteen years ago)

For Super Furries fans: at least one SFA album (with murmurs of up to three - unlikely, but possible), Gruff`s new solo record, an Acid Casuals album, the Boom Bip + Gruff project Dolorean and a side project called the Peth. Yes!

Simon H. (Simon H.), Monday, 8 January 2007 00:24 (nineteen years ago)

Thanks for checking that, DJ M. (i'm on my cell phone (reading ILX instead of sleeping, tss...) at the moment and can't copy/paste or even visit that site)

StanM (StanM), Monday, 8 January 2007 00:34 (nineteen years ago)

The one new Devin song I've heard sounds good. Three 6 Mafia are supposed to be coming out with a new one in spring, featuring, among others, Paris Hilton.

According to their Myspace page, the Mekons spent 2006 finishing a new album, but I don't know what's going on with that.

So, DJ Martian, is Annie's new album confirmed somewhere then? I mean, she's on pace to have it come out in 2007 (hopefully) but I heard she switched labels so I'm not sure if that changed things at all.
