Why does the Maze logo have two palms and six fingers?

The Reverend Rodney J. Greene (R. J. Greene), Thursday, 11 January 2007 03:25 (eighteen years ago)

I just spent ten minutes of my life figuring out the way through the two-palmed, six-fingered Maze logo.

Joy + Pain, no doubt

Frankenstein vs Hocus Pocus vs Peaches in Regalia vs Apache vs other 70s rockin, instra-mental recordings.

jaxon (jaxon), Thursday, 11 January 2007 05:30 (eighteen years ago)

Have you heard the Hot Butter veriosn of Apache (or is this just coincidence). They give the track the same bassline as Popcorn. It was the first version I heard. Had you said Wonderful Land instead of Apache, I would have said the Shads without doubt, but this one's trickier.

I've heard the Shadows' version of Pump Up The Volume. It defies belief.

I've heard the Shadows' version of Pump Up The Volume. It defies belief.

Hell's teeth! Actually, I wish they hadn't extended 20 GOlden Greats to include the '70s/'80s stuff ... I think it's one of those greatst hits albums that stands alone as a great record in itself.

Jez (Jez), Thursday, 11 January 2007 11:28 (eighteen years ago)

Or expand it to include all of the Shadows' harder-edged album and EP tracks from later on in the sixties like "Scotch On The Socks," "Genie With The Light Brown Lamp" etc.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Thursday, 11 January 2007 11:31 (eighteen years ago)

Actually, you may be able to help me here: there's a scene in Summer Holiday where tghe Shadows are on a sand dune playing an instrumental ... do you have any idea what it's called?

TIA

Jez

"Round And Round."

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Thursday, 11 January 2007 13:14 (eighteen years ago)

I might prefer "Popcorn" to any individual "Apache," but considering there have been like eight equally awesome versions of "Apache," that should probably take this.

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Thursday, 11 January 2007 13:19 (eighteen years ago)

The Shadows "Complete Singles", a 4CD collection.

Ignore CD1 and CD4, the middle 2 are brill.

"Popcorn" - it is just so insane. Just when you think you've heard it all, the wistful banjo fantasia starts up and it's like OMG

Euai Kapaui (tracerhand), Thursday, 11 January 2007 13:54 (eighteen years ago)

Fucking POPCORN innit? One of the best tunes ever. It's absolutely stellar!

wogan lenin (dog latin), Thursday, 11 January 2007 14:03 (eighteen years ago)

The energy displayed and Apache music played by the
group and Tommy Seebach is a wonderful display of talent. Hard to believe this was made so long ago.
