well, going by that list, i would say by the new rotting christ album. it's tops!

scott seward (scott seward), Sunday, 14 January 2007 18:02 (nineteen years ago)

i have a menomena album! i really like it! nobody ever heard it. came out in 2004. or maybe 2005.

it looked like this:

i was impressed by it, and i usually hate that stuff.

scott seward (scott seward), Sunday, 14 January 2007 18:04 (nineteen years ago)

Wincing The Night Away just might be the greatest indie-rock album title ever. So perfect.

scott seward (scott seward), Sunday, 14 January 2007 18:06 (nineteen years ago)

more of the same, of course

cutty (mcutt), Sunday, 14 January 2007 18:07 (nineteen years ago)

Martian, have you heard the new Minsk album yet? I think everyone has heard it except me. They rule.

scott seward (scott seward), Sunday, 14 January 2007 18:07 (nineteen years ago)

Not heard new Minsk yet, their myspace profile still doesn't have any new tracks from the new album.

the last Minsk album was influenced by The God Machine

front cover of new Minsk album, looks superb

eluvium's real good. still haven't listened to explosions.

hstencil (hstencil), Sunday, 14 January 2007 18:20 (nineteen years ago)

new eits and minsk albums are great. Not heard Eluvium yet

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy (Kerr), Sunday, 14 January 2007 20:24 (nineteen years ago)

I have both EITS and Minsk at my office, and will definitely play the Minsk on Tuesday. Might dig the EITS out of the stack but honestly they don't seem very appealing.

pdf (Phil Freeman), Sunday, 14 January 2007 20:50 (nineteen years ago)

they do what they do very well, although i'd like to hear them do something different. not heard the new one yet, and am not in a massive hurry to do so, which isn't a good sign.

they're playing live in the spring, though, i think. (kerr: you fancy goin' to that?)

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 14 January 2007 20:59 (nineteen years ago)

ie in glasgow, should have said.

and elsewhere, i assume.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 14 January 2007 21:00 (nineteen years ago)

I don't even have any money for the Mastodon gig. Hope that doesn't sell out before the end of the month.
I'll let you know nearer the time for EITS, Simon. It's something I'd wanna go to. Might make up for missing Mono and Don Caballero when they played in Nov/Dec.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy (Kerr), Sunday, 14 January 2007 21:12 (nineteen years ago)

37 Guns N' Roses Chinese Democracy

yes, i missed that too. as is my wont.

i should try to sort mastodon out too. fuck.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Sunday, 14 January 2007 21:24 (nineteen years ago)

I'll stand up in support of this one. I haven't heard it but I'm anxious to hear it. I liked "The Rescue" from last year.

earinfections (Nick Twisp), Monday, 15 January 2007 03:02 (nineteen years ago)

First three tracks... awesome. Last two... dangerously close to Windam Hill-ville

erv (Abe Froman), Monday, 15 January 2007 07:09 (nineteen years ago)

sorry - tracks 4 and 6 are the ones that bug me, otherwise grebt!

erv (Abe Froman), Monday, 15 January 2007 07:26 (nineteen years ago)

Last two... dangerously close to Windam Hill-ville

haha I am interested to hear these now, at least it is different from the quiet-quiet-LOUD-LOUD style of all their other music (which I love, btw)

baron kickass von awesomehausen (nickalicious), Monday, 15 January 2007 19:21 (nineteen years ago)

I have that Menomena album, with the flipbook.
I liked it at first, but slowly began to realize I couldn't play it with friends around because the vocals were too embarassing. So, I thought I'd like their Under an Hour release, because it's instrumental, but it didn't stick either.

Back to Explosions in the Sky. I'm excited to hear this.

Future of everything: me.

Am listening to that Yndi Halda album and it's quite good; absolutely unoriginal, mind you, but it puts the parts together well. I think I like the lead guy's solo album as A Lily even more! Friendly dude, we've exchanged a couple of e-mails.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 19:37 (eighteen years ago)

And having heard the EITS album itself -- hmm, nice. That's really all I can say about it.
