What are some other songs I might like if I believe "Sweet Pea" by Tommy Roe is the best song of all time?

Help me get this song out of my head, where it has been on constant rotation for over a month, by telling me some similar songs I can glom on to. Please?

You may as well buy a Tommy Roe best-of, while you're searching around.

buy vols 1-3 of varese sarabande's "bubblegum classics" series.

buy a good tommy james and the shondells collection.

buy any ohio express collection.

herman's hermits' "a must to avoid" is stupendously great though it's a somewhat different kind of song, being the folk-rock side of bubblegum rather than the garage side of bubblegum. herman's hermits' "i'm into something good," on the other hand, is stupendously great and fits right in.

acquire some early france gall, such as "sacre charlemagne."

acquire the mccoys' "hang on sloopy."

acquire twiggy's "when i think of you."

also, quite possibly, start listening to little steven's radio show.

and then, if you have even half a clue how to play bass and live anywhere near nyc, please join my band.

Get a big Buddy Holly collection.

A Radio Picture (Rrrickey), Wednesday, 17 January 2007 06:28 (nineteen years ago)

Tommy Roe abandoned the Buddy Holly thing fairly early. After his first hit ("Sheila") it gradually got whittled down.

Down in the Boondocks by Billy Joe Royal. Get something from a Sid and Marty Kroft TV show.

Rhino should do a bubblegum box.
