Ray Parker Jr. is plenty inconsistent...he initially casts Jack as a sympathetic figure, having to look elsewhere for love because Jill spurns him at home...then (in "Woman Needs Love") he implies that Jack was ignoring Jill, and so she had to take another lover...which is it?

Does he contradict himself? Very well, Ray Parker Jr. contradicts himself. Ray Parker Jr. is large; Ray Parker Jr. contains multitudes.

I heard Parker's last album. It's kinda smooth-jazzy with none of the funk or really any pop that he's known for. You're not missing anything. -- Graff
