i won't begin the flood of stories/memories associated w NHC,suffice it to say, they involve blackberry brandy and cheap tee shirts w barely recognizable caricatures of th actual photos on them.

I went to my first concert there! Bowie-the Station to Station tour. I took the bus from New London and my dad had to come down and pick me up afterwards, which was a big deal at the time. I think it's the only time I went there, though.

I remember when there was a rumor going around among my older sister's friends that Jeanne Dixon had predicted that the Hartford Civic Center was going to collapse during a Neil Young concert.

Ahh, I was wondering when it would happen. Another part of youth washed away. Saw a lot of New Haven Nighthawks hockey games there (back when both Macy's and Malley's existed)...I'll miss driving down the spirals from the rooftop-parking garage housed above the facility (what a weird concept! definitely wouldn't fly in a post 9/11-world).

Saw Jimmy Page there in '88. The only other concert I saw there (and the last time I ever set foot in there) was taking my little brother to see Phish in December '95. I think the place was already pretty dilapidated by then.

R.I.P. Coliseum!

Weird, I was just thinking about this place yesterday.

Is Eddie Seward another one of your brothers?

if you saw a dude going nuts in the middle of the front part of the floor, that might have been me

I was just having a flashback to a plaid-shorted preppy guy I knew in college talking about going to see (no first name) Thoroughgood there. I wonder if any of you were at that show?

I roused my five year old son up early to go and see the thing implode. Bad idea in retrospect but still, it was pretty cool.
