When I get that feeling I need a knight in shining armor, riding across the desert on a fine arab charger...

"Emotional Rescue" is the weakest song on the otherwise wonderful album of the same name.

"Sexual Healing."

Split decision. Both grotesque. Both wonderful. "Sexual Healing" gets points for being so horrifyingly sincere, but "Emotion Rescue" gets points for being totally fucking ridiculous.

And "Emotional Rescue" is the finest-ass song on the otherwise boring album of the same name.

I dunno Alfred. I'm with you on the underrated classic album thing, but "Let Me Go" ain't so hot. And the bridge is pretty killer. You will be mine mine mine mine etc etc.

Sexual Healing is fun but hardly stands up to Gaye's strongest work.

You have got to be fucking kidding me. No matter what you think of the Stones, this one goes to "Sexual Healing" without any question(s).

SH is genius.

It picks "Emotional Rescue" or it gets the hose again.

And I'm with Alfred on the album (methinks it's the Stones most underrated), though it's my fav. song on ER.

Jagger's pronunciation of "armor" is the finest two syllables of his career.

NO - emotional rescue is the best song on a pretty fucking great album, and one thousand times better than sexual healing.

"Emotional Rescue" is not better than "Dance, Pt. I" (or "II"), "Summer Romance," or "Let Me Go."

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn (Alfred Soto), Wednesday, 24 January 2007 17:32 (eighteen years ago)

"Sexual Healing."

Funnily enough I've been listening to Gaye's Midnight Love over the past few days. This is no contest, his battle between the carnal and the spiritual was never so exquisitively fought as on sexual healing. The sincerity is was makes that record, it's up their with the first Blue Nile album in the way that his delivery can transform gauche, embarassing lyrics into something transcendent and beautiful.

Emotional rescue is a stinky spunk stain by comparison.

"Emotional Rescue" works well at parties, and "Sexual Healing" works well on movie soundtracks. That's just what I think.
