I was listening to it in the middle of the night last week and all of a sudden it struck me... this is a Bonnie Raitt album (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). I checked the credits, but Raitt's nowhere to be found.

not even close to a 90s relic... this is a much-anticipated album in bookstore music departments. since before christmas every day i've worked i've had somebody asking me for this.

the fact that this album and the new celtic woman CD come out on the same day amounts to a second christmas for some people!

I don't mind Norah. She seems to do what she wants, when she wants and doesn't cater to any particular audience. Can't say I'm a fan of her music though but she's still young and she might surprise us one day.

I find her pleasant but boring to an almost surreal degree. Heard the single and the chord changes and arrangement sound an awful lot like Dirty Work by Steely Dan.

Her new live album is pretty good. She's a good performer and she has a good band. Nice versions of a bunch of her best songs, with more grooves than I expected. And it ends with a cover of "Black Hole Sun."
