Taking Sides: Lalo Schifrin's Starsky and Hutch theme vs. Tom Scott's Starsky and Hutch theme

I shall probably regret asking this later, but hey...

I used to think the latter (Scott's "Gotcha", used from second series onwards) was definitive, but now I'm leaning to the Schifrin. That growly bassy thing at the start, the fact that there's absolutely no discernible melody for the first 20 seconds or so, just a racket, then that zinging string theme... So where do YOU stand, brothers and sisters?

Snap....I hate to hijack your thread but I didn't want to start a new one that would just really be a ripoff of this one.....kind of......WHICH OF THE TWO FOLLOWING THEMES MAKES YOU MORE FIERCELY LONG TO ROCK A WHITE SPORT COAT WITH A HOLSTER FOR YOUR .357 AND DRIVE DOWN NEON-LINED 1980'S CITY STREETS, EVERYTHING LOOKING SEEDY AND CLASSIC AND MURKY-SHADY-GOSSAMER LIKE IT WAS DUBBED ONTO AN EP TAPE FROM THE MOVIES WHICH THE THEMES COME.........1. The clarinet line that Tequila plays in the jazz club in Hard Boiled. 2. Taxi Driver sax line. These two shits wrench my heart consistently, so please answer my poll, and respect to Jeff for the idea.

Ramosi puts it so beautifully. And 1, of course.
