WUT

Seriously, though, I gather that almost everyone on ILM (except me) doesn't like Mt. Eerie at all. I would suggest letting the good folks at the Mt. Eerie Preservation Society Forums, which I frequent, know about it. Almost all of the people there would be interested, I'm pretty sure, and there have been some "shameless eBay" promotional threads there before, and no one has minded too much.

Actually, to save you the time of registering and getting a password and looking like a douche for registering just to promote your auction, I'll just let them know for you.

we should have a forum for sales/trades. really.

i like mt. eerie btw, kind of.

I like mt. eerie too, kind of, but only a fraction of how much I liked the Microphones. A lot (but not all) of Mt. Eerie fans feel the same way, I've gathered. His latest few songs are command songs ("Don't Smoke", and "Get off the Internet"), and they irritate the hell out of me.

Zachary S (Zach S), Sunday, 28 January 2007 21:08 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, i feel about the same way on mt. eerie., on the whole.
oh, but about those two songs, i guess they're supposed to be pretty light-hearted or something, and not completely serious...? i don't know.

anyway, why'd that phil guy punch an audience member in the face that one time?

whaaaa? I don't know anything about that, and I'm dorky enough into Microphones/Mt. Eerie to know shit like that, I thought.

there's a slight chance that i made that up (really, really sorry if i did!), but i could've sworn this happened a few years back. i wouldn't hold this against him, by the way, phil elverum (sp?) seems like a totally sensible guy, so he sure would have had a reason for it.

I can't believe how into this stuff I was at one point, not so long ago.

Raymond Cummings (Raymond Cummings), Monday, 29 January 2007 12:55 (eighteen years ago)

Me too! Mt Eerie (the band not the album) kind of broke the spell. The Glow pt. 2 is still pretty amazing - particularly The Moon through to The Mansion/Something 1 & 2 bit.

Treblekicker (treblekicker), Monday, 29 January 2007 14:41 (eighteen years ago)

Mt. Eerie (the album not the band) was sort of the high point of that whole thing for me, seriously, then from there it was mostly dross - the live Microphones album blew, the live show I caught sucked, and so on, though I can't claim to have heard every single note Phil's made since 2004 (after these records: http://www.citypaper.com/music/review.asp?rid=9292).

ocean roar? or is there another?

Its called Pre Human Ideas...it's yr standard Mt Eerie songs but with really really horrible vocooders all over it, sounds like a really shit version of that track on the last Bon Iver album that people cried about. Unimaginably terrible. I think it might be a prank.

Yeah he reworked a bunch of already existing songs with autotune.

Evan, Tuesday, 29 October 2013 15:23 (twelve years ago)

sounds great, can't wait to hear it
