IIRC during the concert breaks on that tour the PA blared the stage patter from woodstock including the immortal "brown acid" warning.

If I recall correctly, the excerpt is played just before "The Needle and the Damage Done" - a song about the unintended consequences of the enthusiasm for recreational drug use among Young's contemporaries.

The quote ends something like: "Hey, maybe if we try real hard, maybe we can stop this rain! No rain! No rain! No rain!" I've always interpreted this as a reference to the wishful thinking and naivete behind the hype that drugs were a harmless, mind expanding panacea.
