Want to hear her album - can't find it.

Britain's Obtusest Shepherd (Alan), Monday, 29 January 2007 11:44 (eighteen years ago)

Is this the Billie Davis to Sally Shapiro's Susan Maughan then?

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Monday, 29 January 2007 12:19 (eighteen years ago)

i don't know how to answer that. still - album not on amazon. i spose i could get it off itms quick (if norway and all her artists are going to make it illegal!) but such rub kbps :-

I've only heard what's on the blogs, sorry.

Does CDon.com work for you? It's available there.

'Samantha' is the best song there, by a mile.

zeus (zeus), Monday, 29 January 2007 18:47 (eighteen years ago)

"Samantha" is absolutely brilliant, I agree.

cdon.com - thanks!

Britain's Obtusest Shepherd (Alan), Monday, 29 January 2007 19:59 (eighteen years ago)

"Pretty Scary Silver Fairy" or "Chameleon" then?

Britain's Obtusest Shepherd (Alan), Monday, 29 January 2007 19:59 (eighteen years ago)

I've heard great things about Pretty Scary Silver Fairy, and if the songs on it are half as good as "Samantha" then I think we mght be talking about the second coming of "Come and Get It". I think some other songs from PSSF are previewable on her MySpace, and some of her videos are on YouTube.

"Pretty Scary Silver Fairy" is the electro one to get. "Chameleon" was her 2004 debut, and is more like a cross-in-between Cardigans (or fellow Norwegians Briskeby) and Sugababes. A good album, with some electro elements, but, as I said, "Pretty Scary Silver Fairy" is the album you are looking for. It is also the one containing "Samantha".

the second coming of "Come and Get It"

judging by the popularity of this thread, perhaps not tho, eh? ;-)

Love 'Will you remember me'.

Affectian (Affectian), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 12:28 (eighteen years ago)

Any update on how her name is pronounced, Alang?

Euai Kapaui (tracerhand), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 13:47 (eighteen years ago)

Margaret is pronouced roughly as the same name in English, just with "Spanish" r's replacing the English/American ones, and with the first a considerably shorter than it would be pronounced in English.

As for Berger, it's closer to Burger than the French Berger. Barger would possibly be the most correct way, but then you have a kind of weight on the first syllable that is almost impossible to pronounce for Norwegians, as I believe we, the Swedes and the Dutch are the only ones to have it in our languages.

three weeks pass...
Where is all the luv, ILM?

Alan, Thursday, 22 February 2007 22:21 (eighteen years ago)

Still hard to find meantime check out this thread about Pleasure

Geir Hongro, Friday, 23 February 2007 00:16 (eighteen years ago)

What was it that kicked off the hard-to-get Annie super love that tied up ILM for so long?

Alan, Friday, 23 February 2007 10:01 (eighteen years ago)

Annie did at least get quite a bit of coverage in the UK music press, didn't she? Margaret Berger har had nothing outside of Norway and ILM.

Geir Hongro, Friday, 23 February 2007 11:28 (eighteen years ago)

Perhaps there would be some super love if someone at Universal would GET OFF THEIR ARSE, STOP REPACKAGING FUCKING 461 OCEAN BOULEVARD FOR THE BILLIONTH TIME AND RELEASE HER RECORDS HERE SO WE COULD HEAR THEM

Marcello Carlin, Friday, 23 February 2007 11:32 (eighteen years ago)

Just relax. In 20 years time, you'll get "Pretty Scary Silver Fairy" Deluxe Edition, including a complete acuostic rehearsal of the entire album. :)

Geir Hongro, Friday, 23 February 2007 11:40 (eighteen years ago)

"a complete acuostic rehearsal of the entire album"

ew

Alan, Friday, 23 February 2007 11:43 (eighteen years ago)

Anyway, before Margaret Berger, Bertine Zetlitz should at least get a proper international distribution. She is still one step above Berger (and Annie) quality-wise.

Geir Hongro, Friday, 23 February 2007 13:29 (eighteen years ago)

And, also, this up and coming band:

Stylus has been behind Marge since last year. Popjustice has posted on her a couple of times too.

William Bloody Swygart, Friday, 23 February 2007 16:33 (eighteen years ago)

But Britain hates pop so it's too flipping bad.

Marcello Carlin, Friday, 23 February 2007 16:35 (eighteen years ago)

Eh, not quite so sure about that (in terms of her never seeing the light of day over here). 'Samantha' could very definitely get pushed to the Dance Anthems audience without too much bother, I'd reckon.

William Bloody Swygart, Friday, 23 February 2007 16:46 (eighteen years ago)

It's just that Britain can't be bothered.

Marcello Carlin, Friday, 23 February 2007 16:58 (eighteen years ago)

four months pass...

Margaret Berger, she is good.
