Hi music-makers! I don't recall a musician's thread on ILM, which is odd because IMM doesn't get enough use and there have to be a good amount of ILX musicians.
Right? I'm a singer turned singer/songwriter turned ambiguous composer, and I make a lot of music. What are you?

ha! i like this - the one IMM thread on Sunday the 28th of January, unanswered:
Hello all IMMers
I read this board a lot, but I rarely post here. Why? Because the vast majority of threads these days are about gear, a subject about which I have little to contribute and don't really have much interest in. It makes me sad that the threads about songwriting, being in a band, the more "creative" aspects of making music seem to have disappeared. However, I'm a uniter, not a divider, so instead of just bitching about this, I am going to make a more conscious effort to start these kinds of threads, starting with today's "Themes" thread, and I would like to encourage other similar-minded IMMers (if there are any left) to do the same.
Thank you for your attention.

It makes me sad that the threads about songwriting, being in a band, the more "creative" aspects of making music seem to have disappeared.Isn't this simply because the latter is more "technical" whereas the first thing is really more something you have to, well, I dunno, just "feel" in a way.
Everyone on ILX knows I am very interested in songwriting (particularly as in melody-making), but when I write in the Cubase forums, it's all about gear and technical stuff. Because that's where it's easier to help each other out with actual facts.
