TAZARTES=DROOL

Milton can you remind me of the name of that gutteral vocal choral primitive work you were talking about on another thread? Unfortunately it wasn't on the Scelsi thread itself.

http://www.classical.net/music/comp.lst/works/scelsi/uaxuctum.html

there's a new recording of that on Mode I almost bought today, but the classic version is on Accord. any way you can hear it, you should, it's almost too much.

milton parker (Jon L), Sunday, 4 February 2007 04:54 (eighteen years ago)

I mean, I love the choral Ligeti pieces but next to 'Uaxuctum' they almost seem kind of intellectual and chinstrokey. Also, very important, do not listen to it on a computer.

milton parker (Jon L), Sunday, 4 February 2007 04:56 (eighteen years ago)

worth hearing. there's a piece for 19-note scale I'm not sure how they pulled off that sounds pretty great, and a bunch of pieces for quarter-tones w/ dual pianos (the more traditional approach that I'm a little less fond of)
