Reggaeton is so terrible. It all sounds the same. Like.. every single song has he exact same beat.

The Brainwasher (Twilight), Tuesday, 6 February 2007 21:53 (nineteen years ago)

this is more for entertainment. not because i actually like it.

This reminds me that I still haven't gotten around to tracking down a copy of Reggaeton Ninos. And lulz @ "ironic distance".

The Reverend Rodney J. Greene (R. J. Greene), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 00:52 (nineteen years ago)

And lulz @ "it all sounds the same", too.

The Reverend Rodney J. Greene (R. J. Greene), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 00:56 (nineteen years ago)

Oh come on, it does all sound the same.

The Brainwasher (Twilight), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 00:56 (nineteen years ago)

Tremendous bullshit. As "all x sounds the same" arguments always are.

The Reverend Rodney J. Greene (R. J. Greene), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 00:59 (nineteen years ago)

I've been loving that first track.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 00:59 (nineteen years ago)

Every single reggaeton song I've heard is built on the exact same rhythm.

I am torn between the dual urges to educate and flame.

The Reverend Rodney J. Greene (R. J. Greene), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 01:14 (nineteen years ago)

I can understand someone saying it all sounds the same, but having listened to a lot of it now, it really doesn't. Like any other fairly standardized beat, it can be mixed up in various ways. Other rhythms can be layered into it, or the exact way the beat presents itself can change.

According to wikipedia, there is such a thing as "bhangraton". Must investigate.

I've also seen the term desiton

Rockist Scientist, Hippopoptimist (RSLaRue), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 02:28 (nineteen years ago)

Any pointers?

The Reverend Rodney J. Greene (R. J. Greene), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 02:43 (nineteen years ago)

Nah, I just listened to some BBC thing about it.

Rockist Scientist, Hippopoptimist (RSLaRue), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 02:47 (nineteen years ago)

i mean, i like some reggaeton. ironic distance has nothing to do with it.

i just think this kid is fucking awesome, even if the beats are just 'meh' reggaeton beats.
