Well, of course, there are the spoofs: Spinal Tap and Bad News. But have there ever been any good documentaries or feature films about metal, whether in heavy-, black-, death- or whatever, forms?

Some Kind of Monster of course. Because everyone knew it was a spoof except the people involved.

Penelope Spheeris' "The Decline Of Western Civilisation Pt 2: The Metal Years" is essential viewing. Bonehead Sunset Strip 80s Hair-Rock at it's best.

Ah, I'd totally forgotten about 'The Decline Of Western Civilisation. Pt 2: The Metal Years'. Have there been any investigative/ scare-mongering looks at the scene in Norway?

Stuart Kelly (Stuart at the Seaside), Saturday, 10 February 2007 03:16 (eighteen years ago)

Headbanger's Journey had the least-hysterical/semi-investigative look at the Norway stuff that I've seen in English.

Metal: A Headbanger's Journey delves into it, and there's a follow-up doc on the DVD.

There's also a docudrama adaptation of the Lords of Chaos book that was supposedly being filmed last year.

Dream Deceivers - not entirely "about" metal but pretty key
