I work for an FM Sports Talk station. Half of my day is spent producing commercials and liners as well as some editing, and the other half is spent producing our afternoon show.
One other streaming issue that still gets me is that we can't play national spots or any commercial that utilizes something from our music library (like something from Killer Tracks.) I really don't pay that much attention to our web broadcast, but it is frustrating to have to run two clocks during one shift: One for airplay and one for the damn web with PSA's and dry promos running over our regular spots.
I did a 2-6 shift for two semesters in college. Even when I was made Chief Announcer and could've assigned myself a sweeter shift, I stuck with it not only because it appeared humble, but I just dug being in there by myself and enjoyed the night. Also, the looser FCC rules as well as having guests in the studio was all right as well.
