ha, it's not even better than Return to the 36 Chambers

Edward III, Thursday, 22 February 2007 19:19 (nineteen years ago)

It definitely is. I mean, come on.

groovemaaan, Thursday, 22 February 2007 19:20 (nineteen years ago)

it's great for sure.

probably not as good as 36 chambers. but hell what is?

M@tt He1ges0n, Thursday, 22 February 2007 19:21 (nineteen years ago)

okay you convinced me

Edward III, Thursday, 22 February 2007 19:21 (nineteen years ago)

I like it when the jokes are complicated.

This is one of my absolute favorite albums, yet I have never been able to bring myself to actually say the title out loud. I like to imagine he killed a lot of mics and preamps doing the vocal takes on it.

Beats the shit out of Return. This shouldn't even be a debate.

The Reverend, Thursday, 22 February 2007 22:23 (nineteen years ago)

WHAT

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Thursday, 22 February 2007 22:31 (nineteen years ago)

so awesome. 'cold blooded'!!

haitch, Thursday, 22 February 2007 22:36 (nineteen years ago)

Yes it kicks return's ass, although his best trax are on other records (shimmy ya, brooklyn zoo, dog shit)

billstevejim, Friday, 23 February 2007 00:33 (nineteen years ago)

i humbly disagree ... it's not even ODB's best (i prefer return to the 36 chambers). though its high points are quite good -- plus the whole concept behind many nigga please tracks (i.e., having dirty do his thing, only w/ the neptunes and irv gotti producing as opposed to RZA) is quite interesting.

We've discussed both of these a lot, and I'm not sure we've ever settled the question.

If Timi Yuro would be still alive, most other singers could shut up, Friday, 23 February 2007 01:00 (nineteen years ago)

did that album he recorded before he died ever come out?

chaki, Friday, 23 February 2007 01:02 (nineteen years ago)

the battle b/w return vs. nigga please is really, in the end, a battle of ODB quotes:

"Who the fuck wanna be an MC if you can't get paid to be a fuckin' MC?...26 years old, still on welfare/So I gotta get paid fully."

vs.

"I don't have a problem with you fucking me, but I have a little problem with you NOT fucking me."

Eisbaer, Friday, 23 February 2007 01:04 (nineteen years ago)

How the hell did you skip over "I came out my mama's pussy" ???

The Reverend, Friday, 23 February 2007 02:11 (nineteen years ago)
