Great band. What are their very best songs?

the next grozart, Friday, 23 February 2007 16:09 (nineteen years ago)

5. Cities
4. Found A Job
3. Once In A Lifetime
2. Life During Wartime
1. Pulled Up

That wasn't easy...

the next grozart, Friday, 23 February 2007 16:13 (nineteen years ago)

"Memories Can't Wait"
"Warning Sign"
"Psycho Killer"
"Burning Down the House"
"Life During Wartime"

This is tough - bubbling under "Love -> Building on Fire", "Crosseyed and Painless", "Heaven", "Sugar on my Tongue", "This Must Be The Place"

BlackIronPrison, Friday, 23 February 2007 16:17 (nineteen years ago)

I might be alone in this, but I've always thought "Tentative Decisions" is one of their best. The big obvious ones like "Burning Down The House," "Once In A Lifetime," and "Psycho Killer" would be on my list too...

I swear this thread has been done before, but:

1. "Naive Melody (This Must Be The Place)"

nickalicious, Friday, 23 February 2007 16:33 (nineteen years ago)

2. "Born Under Punches"

My #1 is probably something no one else would list, but I just love that song.

glitch, Friday, 23 February 2007 19:47 (nineteen years ago)

"Mind"
"Memories Can't Wait"
"Thank You For Sending Me An Angel"
"The Girls Want To Be With The Girls"
"Don't Worry About The Government"

zeus, Monday, 26 February 2007 15:59 (nineteen years ago)

I love Swamp too, glitch. It's kind of different from most TH songs. I also that one about "the foreigners in growing numbers" or whatever. I think it's about a letterbomber or something.

the next grozart, Monday, 26 February 2007 16:06 (nineteen years ago)

Actually I'd love to hear Tom Waits sing "Swamp", it's almost made for him.

the next grozart, Monday, 26 February 2007 16:09 (nineteen years ago)

"The great curve"
"The overload"
"Stay hungry"
"Houses in motion"
"Burning down the house"

"Heaven" survived even the Simply Red treatment, so it must be a good song.

The Great Curve
Big Daddy
What A Day It Was - live
Slippery People - live
Don't Worry About The Government

Really difficult to narrow down this much! My decision is very influenced by my childhood tastes. When it comes to Talking Heads I can't separate my youthful self from my adult self.

Moodles, Thursday, 1 March 2007 02:32 (nineteen years ago)

The Great Curve
Once In A Lifetime
Heaven
Burning Down the House
Blind

Hard! But I think I'd endorse that list when I woke up in the morning.
