I'm looking for releases which are at least equally as ambitious and strange as this landmark record. Probably quite an open-ended question, but I'm interested to see what the people of ILM come up with.

annette peacock's i'm the one maybe? probably not as weird but still quite special. especially how she uses her voice.

i'd guess capatin beefheart's trout mask replica also belongs into this category of extremely individualistic albums ahead of any time.

i don't really know scott walker, what i heard wasn't my cup of tea but i'm sure people would mention him (probably tilt) in this context.

been listening to Alan Sorrenti's "Aria" lately. what a wonderful album. i want more of this open airy, kinda proggy, but not wanky, weirdy singer songwriter albums
