The one guy who had enough self respect not to play Tila's attention-whore games, and not embarrass himself with a sloppy, drunken, televised makeout session with her, was let go on the second episode. You'd think his supposed virginhood (not to mention his model looks were way beyond the others' league) would have been enough bait to keep a compulsive slut like Tila interested, but apparently not. Ego came before curiosity, heh. On the other hand, he could have been gay and just trying to advance his career. But I doubt it -- I'm straight and I'd have to douse her with a bottle of Listerine before touching her.

not that i expect much form Tila Tequila or a reality show based around Tila Tequila and her search for male or female love, but it just seems shitty that he got dumped because she couldn't handle how strongly he was expressing his feelings for her.

Er, yeah, a couple sporadic 180 second sessions of "alone time" with her and he's deeply in love. I expect he feels so deeply that he'll start stalking the other contestants who dare to try to take his true love and picking them off one by one. I wonder if they'd televise that!

that shit is par for the course on reality shows. people who get on the shows lose all perspective, they're stuck in this weird hermetically sealed environment w/o contact from the outside world, and whatever the prize is becomes the ultimate goal. half the time the prize isn't even worth that much (cf. a dumb choad/choadette on the bachelor/bachelorette) but the competition levels remain the same. the shows claim they do major psychological screenings but i think the netting isn't exactly spaced very wide, so to speak. they don't want murderers and rapists, but they don't have issues with slightly "off" sorts.

also, heavy editing for drama's sake, of course.

and they totally get everyone liquored up. there's always beer in the fridge, for example.

this show is hilarious and totally the most entertaining thing on tv at the moment.

i think the best thing about it is that tila herself would quite obviously be horrible to actually date. her tantrums whenever she discovers that the contestants, not unreasonably, are unconsciously getting more interested in each other than her, are classic.

Yeah, the problem I have with a lot of non-music celebs venturing into music (and this goes for the Lohan thread too) isn't so much a question of credibility as the fact that people who can emote or convey a big or interesting personality in a movie or a reality show don't necessarily know how to do the same thing when singing on a record.
