there is part of me that wants to be a smart ass and there is another part of me that feels bad for the guy.

I am getting soft in my old age,

I looked for news stories about this (mainly because he's from Maryland and I was mildly curious if it happened anywhere around here), but all the stories I found about BT's studio being robbed are from late 2001. was he so unlucky that this has happened twice or is he just still looking for the stuff 5 years after the fact?

well it says it had his show for binary universe on it, which apparently came out last year, so it must be that it happened twice!

it's kinda funny if he didn't have a data backup (hardware theft aside)

blueski, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 14:18 (nineteen years ago)

i mean he says the computer/it's contents are 'priceless' but anything that precious ought to be kept in several different places. sympathies tho!

My sympathies to the guy for the loss of his gear, but this is really bringing out some of the best commenters on myspace.

..I just spent the last few hours researching your mathematical work on TBU..

..and digging deeper into what you put into these pieces, I know that the people responsible for this could not possible understand the worth and function behind what they have taken. If your belongings are not returned or discovered, I would suggest you start checking research labs! And that is only partially in jest. While it would take a crew of bespectacled madmen in lab coats to decipher your brand of scientific aural exploration..

Your positivism during this arduous time and transformation of an obstruction into a growth catalyst for the further promotion of art is remarkable.

BT's MySpace photos are so naff. But I can always listen to the Penetrate Deeper mix and feel better.

He is, in fact, unlucky enough for this to happen twice. Dude's also been held up at gunpoint before.

Tantrum The Cat, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 15:11 (nineteen years ago)

Just about every globetrotting DJ with some years under his belt has had the honour of being held up at gunpoint at least once.

He got his studio ripped off again? Jesus...

I've never been a fan of the guy, but nevertheless, stealing someone's musical instruments is a total shit's trick, I hope they catch the fucker/s.

Pashmina, Wednesday, 28 February 2007 17:48 (nineteen years ago)

In this case it's more akin to stealing custom paper organ rolls tho

gangsters probably jacked him after they heard his lyrics. those evolvers r fucking dope tho-- i'll cop a midi dump of his rich rich program data on the low-- holler @ me!! i hope the hardship of these trying times enables him to make his luscious soundscapes more apocalyptic and foreboding/less corny. emachines & ableton cracked, dude . . .
