I'm loving Efdemin - Lohn & Brot - what else is worth investing in from this label?

every little thing. the last string of releases, like from 10 on or so, have been absolutely astounding, but really i'd buy every one on sight. that said, "lohn & brot" is probably the label's best ever track. my faves, after that one, in no particular order:

lds01 Move D Anne Will (Remixes Pt. 1)
ld12 Matthias Meyer / Sven Weisemann Voltage / Slices
ld11 Andre Crom & Tigerskin / Jichael Mackson Notaufnahme / Fluff In The Bellybutton
ld12 Matthias Meyer / Sven Weisemann Voltage / Slices
ld08 Matthias Meyer / Ndru Reichenbach / A Pony Named Clipklop
ld09 Denis Karimani / Lee Jones Incubatio / Wax Off
ld15 Lars Behrenroth / Ripperton* Organism / 10a

Pretty solid label all around, and I'd agree they've been on a bit of hot streak lately. One of my favorite label names too.

yeah it's all good...the very old sami koivikkio one is worth a mention too, other than that I'd go along with Phil's picks.

I like Efdemin's remix of Stefano Linzatti too...

One reservation, thought the Lars Behrenroth side of the latest was really over the top piercing crap...

amazingly philip didn't mention Serafin's "starship Discotechque" which is my top 3 (maybe my favourite) L*D tracks along with "Lohn and Brot" and Sven Weisemann's gorgeous "Slices". i've not heard verything though. actually there was one EP i heard where i thought both sides were duff but i can't remember which it was now.

yes that Sven Weisemann is really great...

He had another track around the same time with a mix called "Oracy's Tractor Beam Dub" or something...brilliant deep Basic Channel style...

jesus, i should start to re-read my posts before i hit "submit response".

will have a look for the other Sven Weisemann track, thanks Ronan.

actually this label is a godsend to someone like me who can only find the time to dip my toe into this vast deluge of releases. not only are there two artists per release but the track by each artist seems, quite often, to represent the very best of what they do.

there's a low dragging percussive ratchet sound on Lohn & Brot which i absolutely LOVE.

(i think it was the jichael Mackson/ Andre Crom & Tigerskin ep that i didn't like much).

also The Lawrence track on L*D 10 is one of his very best.

i love the jichael mackson but i can see where it's a rather divisive record -- bit of a fizheuer, perhaps.

think I missed that one....or skipped, I'm not really into Tigerskin

ha, i remember really loving the lars behrenroth on the latest, but not the ripperton so much, i'm still suspicious that i may have got the labels confused

going back to Efdemin - what do people make of his gospel house hommage/pastiche "Just a Track" on Dial? i really love it, i think you would have to be totally humourless not to. "house will make ya stong when you feel weak, house will fill ya UUUP when you feel hungry"

also btw he is very very pretty.

I forgot to mention the Alland Byallo/Ed Davenport one...I really liked that...
