Early Friday morning in Miami, Kelis was charged with trying to disrupt an undercover police operation. Authorities said Kelis screamed racial profanities and rushed toward two female officers posing as prostitutes, authorities said.

A Miami Beach police arrest report revealed that the incident occurred in the Sourth Beach nightclub district where officers were posing as prostitutes. According to the report, Kelis screamed racial profanities at the officers, and then rushed toward them. After her friends restrained her, she calmed down, but then continued shouting and charging at the officers again. While being handcuffed, she resisted arrest.

Kelis was charged with two misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest without violence. The report said the officers were talking with a group of men that included her husband, the rapper Nas, on a main avenue in the South Beach nightclub district when Kelis rushed toward them, screaming racial profanities.

According to the report, the officers were questioning the men about two suspected female prostitutes who were spotted in the area. The officers asked Kelis to step away, but the report said that she continued shouting.
