Belatedly discovering this album - marvellous. Goes well with my Italians Do It Better obsession.

I was going to post about this on the "Albums With A Cult Following -- You and Only You" thread. But I see there are others right here.
All that stuff people are saying on the Fever Ray thread? That's how I feel about I Put A Record On.

Did I not say anything on this thread before? Yes, v. good stuff she does.

I saw her in Brisbane maybe three or four months ago. Awesome gig, Tenniscoats played after her. She was funny and awesome.

Gut Und Irmler's 500m is charming.

The Myra Davies & Gudrun Gut albums are fun if you're into spoken word. Gudrun Gut did the musical backing for the new Myra Davies as well, though I've only heard snippets.

And if you don't like Myra Davies talking all over your Berlin electronica, there's Beate Bartel & Gudrun Gut - Instrumentals for Sirens (2017)

Here's the link to the album playlist, as that didn't work.

Knew the name sounded familiar. Beate Bartel was in Liaisons Dangereuses (1981), and with Gudrun, a founding member of Einstürzende Neubauten (1980-), Mania D. (1980), and Matator (1987-91).
― tactical piñata (Sanpaku), Wednesday, 23 August 2017 05:11 (eight years ago)
Is there even a Beate Bartel / Liaisons Dangereuses thread?
Obviously, I knew Niños del Parque from a youth misspent in goth/industrial clubs, but I didn't ever find out who it was by until researching the Düsseldorf scene. And that suddenly exploded backwards into checking out Mania D / Malaria! / Matador, and now I'm just becoming obsessed with these women, finding out all of the things that Beate Bartel and Gudrun Gut were involved with is just mindblowing. They seem like such pivotal people who have done SO MUCH amazing stuff, but most of what I'm finding about their origins is kind of asides in Neubauten biographies.
