This is quite possibly the most upbeat album they've yet done, and it retains the 4AD production aesthetic of Misery is a Butterfly, which I think is a positive thing. As far as songwriting goes, this is the most unique recording they've put out in a while, although certain parts (Dr Strangeluv's verse) could still easily fit into their past repertoire. The Dress is a standout for me. If anything, this album makes clear the division between their early albums and newer material, with Melody of Certain Damaged Lemons as the turning point.
