Guide to essential proto-punk

Can you guys help me put something like this together, with proto-punk styled albums that are absolutely essential listening? This is probably my favorite genre/subgenre of music, but so much of it is generally undiscovered and rarely talked about that it's hard to come across a lot of it.

I'll start by listing two of my favorite albums of all time, and you guys can just add on to this as needed:

1. Stooges - Funhouse
2. Simply Saucer - Cyborgs Revisited

ooh yeah, as the vocal hits the wall and slides down it enough for the listener to decipher what's being sung the group runs in to join in. & it's Link Wray and the Wraymen. So there's lovely for you.
