Both bands have growing cult audiences, fans trumpeting the supposed importance of these pioneers of folk-psych-techno fusion. The Gyrations always seemed the more potent to me, their lyrics and sound combining to create a rickety landscape of dance beats ready to fly apart at any second into a swirl of strummed guitar whirl. Internal Combustion also seemed much more forced, the looseness of the psych slightly strangled by the drive to dance and repeated lyrics ad nauseum.
