Whimsical bands?

Looking for a few bands that live in their own universe, have a fantastical sense of humor, employ surrealism in their lyrics and music, appear carefree and light on the surface but have hidden depth, and are really great. I need more whimsy in the music I listen to. Any recommendations?

Sounds kind of like a highly charitable description of The Decemberists. Or maybe the new Panda Bear or Animal Collective or something.

I just fell in love with a song on a JC Penny commercial. It's more of a nature, happy whimsy. The band is ForeverThursday and the song is How Can It Be.

HowCanItBe

The band Pram also lives in their own world, but its a creepy whimsical one. And I second Electric Six.
