THAT SEEMS LIKE IT MIGHT BE AN INTERESTING BLOG JON

Tim Ellison, Monday, 25 June 2007 20:08 (eighteen years ago)

There's some really good analysis on that blog, but also this weirdness about the extent to which the guy believes that "advancedness" vs. "overtness" is basically the ONLY criterion for judgement. Sometimes, he seems to be goofing on the idea and sometimes he seems to actually believe it!

Tim Ellison, Monday, 25 June 2007 22:14 (eighteen years ago)

but more important, tim what do you think about paul's album?

the music - not the record label.

m coleman, Monday, 25 June 2007 22:17 (eighteen years ago)

ah, i haven't heard it yet. i would like to but i'm not made of money, starbucks!!

Tim Ellison, Monday, 25 June 2007 22:36 (eighteen years ago)

Paul's album is on emusic. Which is no reason to waste approximately $3.25 on it.

Hurting 2, Monday, 25 June 2007 22:38 (eighteen years ago)

i'd pay as much as six dollars for it if i got the cd with the booklet inside and the plastic case with the rounded corners.

Tim Ellison, Monday, 25 June 2007 22:43 (eighteen years ago)

i think i'd rather have sir paul give me money than pay anything for his awful, awful music.

The Advanced Theory blog is great just for the shit the dude posts. Even if you think he's taking the piss at a particular point, and perhaps the whole idea is a pisstake, its still fun to think about! I want to meet him. Did you read the Klosterman piece about advancement? Also worth considering is advancement theory looking at itself... snake eating itself image goes here ;)

Britt Bergman and I invented the advanced theory in 1990 at a Pizza Hut in Columbia, SC.

^ always makes me laff

Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Tuesday, 26 June 2007 02:28 (eighteen years ago)

I think that blog is pretty good - I don't think I'd call any of it a piss take, but there's definitely some fun being had.
