Two opposite ends of a peculiarly damaged psychedelic telescope: "Time Has Come Today" and "Strawberry Letter 23."

"Time Has Come Today" (the track) is ace, but neither of the other Chambers LPs I've owned really grabbed me at all. I'm not sure that I've ever even heard the Johnsons, aside from "SL23". But it took me 20 years and a viewing of "Boogie Nights" for me to finally successfully identify that song, so it's plausible that I do know their other biggies without being aware of it. I suppose I really should check 'em out...
The correct answer is The Isley Brothers.

Which two? The Time Has Come and the '71 greatest hits.
If I come across it, I'll give New Generation a try. (But even if I like it, there's still a good chance that I AM mad!) I wouldn't mind some Brothers Johnson recommendations either. Maybe they have a thread...

Mr. Johnson’s bass playing was prominent on Michael Jackson’s hits “Don’t Stop ’Til You Get Enough,” “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ ” and “Billie Jean.”
Did not know this. Wow. How had I never looked at the dang liner notes for this info? Shocked at myself.

Louis was Quincy Jones's go-to bassist for quite a long time.
