I will ask Jon, but I would like to get the page numbers added in on the links for each chapter there on the first page. You can click on the Appendix and see the page numbers for references to each song.

The page numbers are:
Chapter 1 - pp. 6-42
Chapter 2 - pp. 43-66
Chapter 3 - pp. 67-89
Chapter 4 - pp. 90-122
Chapter 5 - pp. 123-158
Chapter 6 - pp. 159-181

It was too long for me to attempt to read. Well written? No doubt. Too long? Deffinetly. Needing summarization? Affirmative.

Also what font did you use. If its anything other than Palatino Linotype God almighty spare your soul.

I don't expect people to sit at their computers on a little downtime and read the whole damn thing, but it's certainly intended to be a fairly comprehensive accounting of the subject.

Chapter 1 is kind of a long treatise on aesthetics in early Surrealism and some contemporaneous art music. Apart from that, I think people can peruse sections of the other chapters as they wish. You can read it from anywhere.

Haha, of course I read Chapter 3 first. Very well-written and well-researched! Congrats Tim!

If you email me the original file (Word, for example), I can make you a nice eBook in .prc format.

Surrealism and garage/psych are two of my major interests, so I'll be fascinated to read this in detail. Skimming the gothic section, I'd suggest that authentic C19 sources probably came down to the garage via Roger Corman and Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine.

I've met a few pretty full-on contemporary surrealists, and the 60's generation seem to be into Dylan and the Dead (which is awkward, as I have little time for either). Folk closer my age seem to be into TG, PTV, and Coil.

"In the Driving Stupid’s song “Horror Asparagus Stories,” both “horror” and “asparagus” modify the noun “stories.” “Asparagus Stories” would seem to make sense, translating to “Stories About Asparagus.” “Horror Stories” also makes sense. Putting the two modifiers together, however, results in something that is syntactically perplexing. One doesn’t know if the title means “Horror Stories About Asparagus” (and why would there be horror stories about asparagus?) or “Horror Stories With an Asparagus Flavor.”"

- Brilliant! The funniest thing I've read this week!
