green tea with ginseng
so what are antioxidants...? are they tiny robots that march through your body eating bugs? no. well, they sort of are. but not literally. antioxidants are organic compounds (this is us trying to sound smart) that protect the body from the ravages of oxygen. and here we were thinking that oxygen was our friend. turns out we were wrong. some oxygen is good (like, for breathing). and some oxygen is bad (like, for hurting your cells). so our antioxidants will only battle the bad oxygen in your system. tea is naturally high in antioxidants by the way. and other good things, like polyphenols. and you're right, we have no idea what "polyphenols" are but we read somewhere that they're good for you and that tea has them. (and yes, we're happy and ignorant)

energy tea
for some reason you're feeling slow. and sometimes feeling slow is nice. but right now feeling slow isn't nice. you need some speed. pep. vim and vigor. energy. you need to get a head full of steam and eat nails and run around the block and wow people with your ping-pong skills and build a dog house out of titanium and dance until your shoes fall apart into nought but rage and shoe-laces. you need us. and we need you. but right now you need us and what we're peddling. we're peddling speedy energy in a bottle. and you don't have to feel guilty about putting it into your body. this drink is 100% natural and not too sweet. all the energy, and none of the guilt. so go out and eat a canoe and write the next great american novel and run a marathon blindfolded and juggle buses. isn't caffeine great?

white tea with pomegranate
ok, I'm trying to write some clever label copy for our white tea with pomegranate cooler, but I am distracted because my cat is trying to disembowel a pen, and my dog is giving me baleful looks from the couch as if to say, 'why do you love your laptop-pet more than you love me?' so, quickly, we wanted a super-healthy anti-oxidant cooler to serve at teany so we put pomegranate and blueberry and white tea and pear juice together and we came up with this drink which we loved and which we drink everyday and which we (being ostensibly altruistic) want to share with you here in this bottle. now I have to go and perform triage on a mutilated pen and shower a pug with love and affection. thanks.

vanilla berry hibiscus
you can pronounce it however you like. tea-knee. tee-nee. tea-enn-why. it's up to you. personally we pronounce it "teenie", and for a good reason. we, kelly and moby, are small. we have a small restaurant on rivington street and we have a small drinks company and, let's face it, we're small people. which is great when you're on a plane or a bus. sure, you big people might rule the world, but what's it like to sit in an economy-class seat for 8 hours, huh? we small people have no problem in economy. and maybe we're a tad defensive. cos maybe we wish we were bigger cos then we would have been good at sports and maybe won a trophy or two in junior high school instead of getting picked last and being the first person to go "out" in dodge ball. ok, we'll stop whining now. come visit us on rivington street.

I bought one today - some kind of blueberry white tea - and there was this message on the back about how you should take a nap right now but not until it's dark because that will make you feel "gross." And there was a little cartoon of a guy with a balloon. And I was like "FUK U"

Hurting 2, Friday, 23 March 2007 04:22 (nineteen years ago)

That's shameful.

Drooone, Friday, 23 March 2007 04:25 (nineteen years ago)

Also the girl at the place where I bought it actually said "Ooh, I love it when people get Teany!"

Hurting 2, Friday, 23 March 2007 04:27 (nineteen years ago)

I'm so sorry, but the only word that aptly describes this situation/these people is "cunts".

The main problem with Teany is that it just isn't very good.

Much better = Tea's Tea Pure Green

nabisco, Saturday, 24 March 2007 01:29 (nineteen years ago)

It was fine. It tasted like every other upmarket fruit-tea not-too-sweet label-tries-to-get-cute-with-you drink.

Hurting 2, Saturday, 24 March 2007 02:15 (nineteen years ago)
