Can The BEE GEES Write Hits For Some Newer Artists Again ?

I've been listening to a lot of the stuff they wrote for other artists the last few days and I wondered if they were capable of writing a new batch of hits for some of the newer artists around today. "Heartbreaker" was such a fine pop/r&b single! Do you think they could have a new hit with someone like Kelly Clarkson?

The original context for the success of those Gibb-helmed hits is gone. Their most credible songs had at least a faint dance pulse (hell, even "Islands in the Stream" does), and that's what they do best: a lush dance/adult contemporary hybrid.

I'm a big fan of Diana Ross' "Chain Reaction," btw.

akon's version of "new york mining disaster 1941" is pretty sweet.

I'd like to see them try it though. Could be awesome.

I don't want this to happen.

I suspect a Bee Gee/Tahiti 80 joint venture would be fruitful...

My favorite of these is "Guilty," the Barbara Streisand/Barry Gibb duet, because when Barry whispers "it ought to be illegal," you know EXACTLY what he's talking about.

I say they write the entire next Madeleine Peyroux record, or Carrie Underwood. Because these two ladies are our Generation's Potentially Finest Interpreters of Popular Song.

I am afraid you won't hear a lot of newly written hits from Maurice Bigg anytime soon.
