"I've heard this a couple times but never really let it sink it, Runaway Slave is my shit though and it just got a CD reissue (I bought it for $20 on half.com four or five years ago)"

It did?!?! Where?

Alex in SF, Tuesday, 27 March 2007 17:34 (eighteen years ago)

I saw a copy of it at Dusty Groove here in chicago...i'm not sure who reissued it.

deej, Tuesday, 27 March 2007 17:34 (eighteen years ago)

maybe it was just a copy of the japanese issue? I don't know. It a was shrink wrapped, not used copy but i'm not seeing it on the dusty groove site.

deej, Tuesday, 27 March 2007 17:35 (eighteen years ago)

Oh I see. Some crazy Japanese pressing (also Breaking Atoms.) WTF is wrong with US record companies that those two records are out of print here.

deej, Tuesday, 27 March 2007 17:37 (eighteen years ago)

three years pass...

All I see is blinkin' lights track boards and fat mics
950's SP12's MP60's
Shit is thumping ear drums pumpin'
The shit is tight hype 'cause the sample is tight right

five months pass...

Sent digging in the crates Mediafire by the hip hop poll, I got around to hearing Runaway Slave. Passed me by until now but what a great record. Deserves more credit - and not to be out of print.

Poll also made me pay more attention to Big L, Diamond D and OC so I'm making up for lost time with DITC in general.

This and Breaking Atoms are out of print? Feel lucky I had no problem getting either of them in lolcollege.

There's a ton of hip hop out of print. I'd like to see the likes of Poor Righteous Teachers, Main Source or Son of Bazerk getting some cash for their back catalogue, and the attention of a reissue program. Rappers get the bum's rush in that respect.

"i kinda think goodfellas >>>> runaway slave but maybe thats just today"

Tough call but I'm currently in this boat. Love these guys obv.

Next Level (Nyte Time Mix) (quoted in the OP) made my top 50 tracks ballot:

I need to get A.G.'s Get Dirty Radio still. I never heard Show & AG's 3rd full length either, anyone got an opinion that (Full Scale)?

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Tuesday, 14 June 2011 17:32 (fourteen years ago)

Fuck around and get broke down like syllables
It's Party Arty and the nigga that you've heard of
