remastered? remixed? the same versions as before?

If they come out on Itunes i would bet they would be the same as before.

In a few years they can remaster them and make even more money to pay off Lady Mucca.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy, Sunday, 1 April 2007 20:07 (eighteen years ago)

yeh, they'll be exactly the same.

i'm quite sure people are going to get very excited about this, but i can't bring myself to give even an iota of a toss.

It's more involved than we thought.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 2 April 2007 06:03 (eighteen years ago)

how so? both articles are speculating on the same thing.

energy flash gordon, Monday, 2 April 2007 07:29 (eighteen years ago)

well people were speculating the announcement of the beatles' catalogue on itunes and that wasn't announced at all, so, they weren't, were they?

"We have to trust our consumers," he said. "We have always argued that the best way to combat illegal traffic is to make legal content available at decent value and convenient."

THANK YOU

The BBC article says absolutely nothing about the Beatles other than that they're not going to be on iTunes anytime soon!

was not Mal Evans talking about remastering the songs for Apple months ago? surely these will be?

Dominique, Tuesday, 3 April 2007 05:02 (eighteen years ago)

mal evans is dead!

akm, Tuesday, 3 April 2007 05:07 (eighteen years ago)

er, Geoff Emerick

Dominique, Tuesday, 3 April 2007 05:07 (eighteen years ago)

:/

Dominique, Tuesday, 3 April 2007 05:08 (eighteen years ago)

though I won't dispute that he might have been saying all kinds of things to you personally

neil aspinall did a press conference where he said that it would happen eventually. the word is that the albums have been remastered (maybe remixed), and they're coming out, as SACDs most likely, but no-one knows when.

Already a thread on the non-Beatles-related aspects of this thread.

The Reverend, Tuesday, 3 April 2007 05:19 (eighteen years ago)

yes, me + beatles dead roadies = tight

nevertheless, surely remastered beatles catalog comes out to underwhelming fanfare, and many columns filled w/death of beatles, omg-what-happened-to-the-60s headlines

Dominique, Tuesday, 3 April 2007 05:19 (eighteen years ago)

I really am content at this point to never hear anything involving the Beatles ever again. Ever. Again.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 3 April 2007 05:21 (eighteen years ago)

Not even "Hey Bulldog"?

Mark G, Tuesday, 3 April 2007 09:22 (eighteen years ago)

Does anyone outside the media actually think the UK charts are going to be dominated by All Beatles All The Time? I mean, no other back catalogue has really made it into the charts, everyone owns these songs already and, with an entire catalogue to choose from, those people that are downloading will be buying different songs from one another.

Unless Paul McCartney dies tomorrow or something.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 3 April 2007 09:28 (eighteen years ago)

They'll all go for "Hey Jude" which will then make an overwhelming entry into the chart at number 49
