The Confessions DVD had some above-average performances, and she's become a rather decent rhythm guitar ("I Love NYC" live was a revelation).

holy shit did anyone see the Madonna show that was broadcast... umm opposite some other huge TV event?? (not the super bowl, i don't think)

it was incredible, frankly. like, really really great. totally athletic, drilled-to-death coreography, constume changes out the wazoo, rollerskaters, a hot band, reworkings of a lot of her classic stuff. there's a dvd of it out.

the wikipedia page for the Blond Ambition World Tour says someone called Adele Humphrey was the opening act for selected dates, I can't find any other reference to this. Has anyone heard of her?
