What is David Bowie's most coked-up album?

Because after a quick scan of the pictures in the album booklet, it is apparent to me that Station to Station should receive this "honor."

Well duh. Dude can't even remember recording the album

C. Grisso/McCain, Wednesday, 4 April 2007 17:28 (eighteen years ago)

By the time of its recording, Bowie was heavily dependent on drugs, especially cocaine. It has been alleged that Bowie was suffering from cocaine psychosis during this period and does not remember the production of this album

ha, xpost

It's not the side effects of the cocaine, I'm thinking that it must be love.

if it's station to station, someone fed ex mr. bowie some blow right now.

Does cocaine really work that way? Where you basically black out for months at a time? Seems like your mind would continue recording information. But I am no expert on cocaine.

this 'station'-era interview with russell harty by the way, answers the original question. it's scary. he clearly is out of his box. the contrast between this and the funtime sniff-athon with dick cavett from only december 74 (11 months prior) makes for an unsettling comparison.

God, he's flying during that interview.

just looking around actually and there's also this which i've never seen until now. he even pauses dramatically before he makes the usual sniffing noise and mentions a 'gram-y'(gedit?). i do love this era of bowie but all the same what's really amazing here is just how self important, out of it, fucked up and pretentious he can make himself seem just basically saying 'heres the award for best female'.

joss stone eat yr heart out baby.

The answer is, of course, Raw Power.

RH: Are you enjoying this conversation?
DB: Oh, yes. I think it's moving at a nice, sensible pace.

LOL.

The Deacon, Wednesday, 4 April 2007 19:49 (eighteen years ago)

should watch the cracked actor documentary. it's kind of horribly hilarious watching bowie ride around in a limo, drinking from a carton of milk.

So what drug can we thank for 'Reality?' Plavix?

Dr. Joseph A. Ofalt, Wednesday, 4 April 2007 23:47 (eighteen years ago)

Russell Harty would make any interview seem foolish, it seems.

"Are you still into the extra-terrestrial bit? Are you still aware of forces apart from satellites that are moving around this globe, or this planet, or around you, David Bowie? What kind of eclectic manifestation do you have of this?"
