oh and the joakim mix of cut copy's new single is A+++. turns a slightly weak track into a total belter with a great stuttery breakdown.

a subtle one that i've been loving all year but have only recently come to realize just how much i cherish it: isolee's beautiful remix of paulo olarte's "solo tu". that said, based on the bits i've heard, i'm still reserving a potential place for the c2 remix of "sound of silver".

Argh I hate that Van She remix, there's the glimmer of something really magical there, especially in the early stages and then they just obliterate it with all those heavy-handed rocky synth noises.

Jacques Lu Cont really needs to remix 1234 along the same lines but without fucking it up.

oh, the 2nd half of tiga's remix of 'ice cream' is pretty good providing you're not mighty sick of that song yet, does a nice soaring booming thing

not sure how ilm takes either act but i adore the very new remix of 'bonafide lovin' by the teenagers (only on their myspace at the mo). in fact i like all teenagers remix - but can't stand any teenagers originals. except frankie lymons lollers

nothing this year so far to even touch DFA's MY LOVE by Justin Timberlake, but the Klaxons/Soulwax remix is still fantastic.

i wish rex would come back with some good ones, his new ep is disappointing.

Circulate is great, just nowhere near as great as his other singles. Italian Blonde is definitely the most just-a-b-side he's done. disappointed that he's apparently including some of his old remixes on the album; the singles have all been so good at being a discrete artistic package that I hoped that if he had to make an album* it would be a whole well-thought unit too. seems it'll be a My Progress So Far sampler instead, boo.

*told him once I just wanted him to keep making singles

xpost: ^^hmm. first 30 seconds were exciting but it's fairly bloghouse once the song starts. it's weird, on the first Chromeo, the remixes and the live show outshone the album by miles, but the new one seems to be proving too great to withstand remixing.

should be seeing them in teh England next month though, if they can pwn the record with fun-rays again then three thumbs up

Phones did a remix for the last jacknife lee single 'making me money'. not bad, but not that great either. (ie fairly typical fucked up current styled indie/rock/dance.
also, i have just realised i have a pilooski edit of a coldplay, sorry, stateless track - so off to see what thats like now ..

carl craig 'in the trees' is my #1.
