by “video blog” = I am as much interested in knowing about those out there than I am in using this thread as one, and by “new underground music” I will go with the brave new waves show’s definition : ”This could mean anything from indie rock to dance, experimental electronic and avantgardisms of every shape. We include the widest universe of genres possible” with an emphasis on “new”= stuff like made this year and on, as a difference to the other ILM main thread on music videos who is more all over the place. I am also interested in personal theories on different styles of “video jockey” and the construction of “video sets” and stuff

some simple vj ideas from mtv2:

- 8-hour selection of random video in rotation 3 times a day

- all of the band's videos played in chronological order

-invite musicians to hand pick blocks of videos or air hour-long blocks

- play every music video in the MTV library in alphabetical order.

- play every video that had debuted on the channel during the entire year, alphabetically by video title. or by time it aired or whatever..

-Increase The Beat: Over 400 music videos were represented, arranged in order from slowest to fastest, based on the number of beats per minute of the song.

-grouped videos into categories, one for each letter of the alphabet

-an hour of videos grouped by a different theme every week:videos featuring animation, videos featuring Snoop Dogg, videos featuring motorcycles, and videos by musicians who have famous fathers...

-I remember seeing poetic correspondances between videoes composing some blocs: was under the impression ppl online could also submit their selction, composed of more than 2 videoz in a row? Anyone know if it was the possible through their show "MTV2 Request" or some other one?

I had not thought much of making curator choices here, for face points etc, aiming more at widest coverage of the unpop, but I think I will, well, in the meantime I think this still counts -->> Battles - Atlas it's allright

half a dozen people making minimal effort like that and we'll get some form of entertainment going yes
