i've never been a real fan, but i think his melodies are stronger, he doesn't do that quavery voice thing nearly as much and the ratio of nonembarrassing to embarrassing lyrics is much improved. and i like the fiddle. "four winds" is a good single.

Wide Awake had some personal resonance, so I'm assuming I'm not going to like Cass as much by default, but I'm picking it up this week anyway based on the strength of the reviews.
